Obituary for Andre I Hawkes
Andre Ira Hawkes, 63 son of Rosebud Manning Hawkes and the late Wadsworth E. Hawkes was born on December 5, 1957 in Richmond, Virginia. He was the third of four children. On Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 6:57 a.m. at Bon Secours Hospice House, Richmond, VA God called Andre, one of his angels to come home and be with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Andre graduated from Nottoway High School in Blackstone in 1974 and entered the United States Army for a short time and received an Honorable Discharge.
Andre was a kind, patient and loving husband, step-father, son, brother and friend to those who knew him. He loved all types of cars and driving trucks. His last employment was with Pitney Bowes of Richmond, Virginia.
Andre leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Maria; son, Marco; devoted mother, Rosebud Manning Hawkes and sister Mary Helen Hawkes, both of Ashburn, Virginia; two brothers, Michael (Jackie) and Rudolph Hawkes of Georgia; aunts, Ruth Manning Jacobs of Silver Spring, Maryland and Mary Ann Hawkes of Blackstone, Virginia; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, among them one devoted, Oscar Sanchez.
