Obituary for Ambassador Josephine W. Coleman
Ambassador Josephine Witcher Coleman, daughter of the late Sonny and Thelma Wainwright Witcher was born May 9, 1949 and departed this life on November 18, 2021 at Chippenham Medical Center in Richmond, VA.
Josephine attended Luther H. Foster High School, CNA school and Theology. She was employed with Virginia Employment Commission for seven years and a CNA for over thirty years. She also volunteered at Life Changing Community Development Corporation and provided many years of ministry and serving the community. She enjoyed reading the bible, shopping, spending time with her family and attending outings with her church family.
Josephine was a member of Dove Evangelistic Church Ministries.
Josephine is survived by two sons, Tyrone Brooks (Janet) of Blackstone, VA “Tyree” and Samuel A. Brooks (Artesha) “Tonio”, “Brown”; one daughter Felicia Hobbs (Nathan, deceased) of Crewe, VA; five brothers, Robert (Millie) Casper both deceased, Lewis Casper, deceased (Teresa), Donald (Bernice) Witcher both deceased; Alvin Witcher (Evelyne) and Benjamin Witcher deceased (Roberta); four sisters, Marie Casper, Fannie Lou Jones (Freeman) both deceased, Nettie Jones (Walter, deceased) and Annie Williams (James); grandchildren, Xavier (Rochelle), Jashua, Antonio, Tyrell, Denzel, Jalissa, Irion, Antania; sixteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
