Obituary for Althea E. Henderson
Althea "Al" Henderson was born October 28, 1945 to the late Myrtle Henderson in Crewe, VA.
Althea attended Nottoway High School. Later in her teens she moved to New York City where she resided for thirty years and raised her three children. In 1996 she relocated to Atlanta, GA where she lived.
For the past twenty years, Althea was a very outgoing person who loved her family, loved to cook and loved the "Blues", her favorite music. In addition to her love for family, cooking and music she also enjoyed watching the Jerry Springer show. She was an avid reader and loved trading James Patterson books with her son Cedric.
Left to cherish Althea's memories are:Â her two loving daughters, Samantha Henderson and Tricia Henderson and one son, Cedric James Kennedy, Sr., all of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, Unique Althea Lenhard, Shaunsaa Henderson, Shaleek Reid, Kionie Kennedy, Kashawn Lenhard, Shakeem Spain, William Holder, MacKinzie Elizabeth Kennedy, and Cedric James Kennedy, Jr., all of Atlanta, GA; two great grandchildren, Jailyn M. Leslie and Niyla Olovia Ward, both of Atlanta, GA; one aunt, Thelma Cummings of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Funeral Services Friday, May 20, 2016 at 12 Noon at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 504 East St., Blackstone with burial to follow in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
