Obituary for Alphonso W. Scott
ALPHONSO WINFIELD SCOTT, departed this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. He was born to Virginia Archer Scott and the late Moses Scott, Sr. on February 26, 1955.
Alphonso attended the Amelia County public schools. At an early age Alphonso joined and was baptized at the Promise Land Baptist Church under the pastoralship of the late Reverend William Braxton.
It was on January 8, 2001 that Alphonso united in holy matrimony with Brenda Jasper.
Alphonso was preceded in death by a son Toby Bailey, but leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife Brenda; two daughters, Wanda R. Goode of Powhatan, VA and Brianna Monroe of Amelia, VA; his loving mother Virginia Scott; two grandchildren, Jamieson Goode and Tishon Postel; one sister, Clara (Alvin) Chalkley; four brothers, Clifton, Wilbur, Moses Jr., and Kenneth; mother-in-law, June Jasper; father-in-law, Roosevelt Jasper; four sisters-in-law, Venessa (Jeffery) Booker, Daphne (Javan) Holman, Anita (Henry) Royal, and Rhonda (Bobby) Jones; one brother-in-law, Larry (Velvet) Taylor; eight aunts; seven great aunts; five uncles; two great uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and numerous devoted friends.
Funeral Service Monday, January 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Promise Land Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
