Obituary for Alma Tucker
Mrs. Alma Bernice Wells Campbell Tucker, daughter of the late Mr. Willie Wells, Sr. and Mrs. Mazie Fitzgerald Wells, was born on September 19, 1922 in Nottoway County, Virginia.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bersenia Bennett and Mazie Adlene Wells and three brothers, Robert Wells, George Wells Sr. and Willie Wells, Jr.
She was educated in the Nottoway County Training School.  She worked at the Grove Drive Inn Theatre for 18 years and Craddock & Terry, Blackstone, Virginia for five years.  She also did domestic work in the county for many years.
She joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church on September 3, 1938, under Pastor Rev. J. Rather.  She was a member of the Missionary Ministry for many years and held the treasurer position for 20 years.  She was a faithful member of the Sunday School until her health declined.
Alma was also a member of the Women’s Ministry and a member of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry.  She served on the Kitchen Committee for many years. 
Mrs. Tucker loved flowers, knitting, sewing, crocheting, cooking and doing word search puzzles.  During winter months, she loved putting puzzles together.  She was a very active person.
She leaves to mourn her loss, three daughters, Bernice C. Fowlkes, Blackstone, Virginia, Mazie C. Webb, Blackstone, Virginia and Linda D. Campbell, Baltimore Maryland.  Her four sons, Richard (Mildred) Campbell, Richmond, Virginia; MacArthur Campbell, Richmond, Virginia; George Campbell, Sterling, Virginia and Charlie (Ruth) Campbell, Clinton, Maryland. 
Grandchildren:  Brenda White (Barry), Alvin Fowlkes, Jr., Angela Fowlkes, LaCriscia Fowlkes, LaTiscia Fowlkes, Reginald Campbell (Robin), Rev. Carl Johnson (Robin), Richard Campbell, Jr.( Charity), Detra Campbell Taylor (James), Kevin Campbell, Crystal Campbell Ferriera (Landon) and Annette Campbell Holland (James). 
Great Grandchildren: Barry White, Jr., Christopher Campbell, Damian Underdue (Alana), Carletha Johnson, Kire Hines, Kyler Ferriera , James Holland, IV and a  host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Monday, January 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
