Obituary for Alice Lee Branch
Alice L. Branch was born August 29,1935 In Burkeville, Virginia to the late Kingzelle and Lucille Branch. She was second of the youngest siblings. She was proceeded in death by all her siblings except for one brother, Elder Robert T. Branch of Baltimore, Maryland.
She received her education in the Nottoway County School System and attended Saint Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, VA. She was employed as an elementary school teacher in the Richmond School system for 30 years. She taught at the Albert V. Norrell her entire career. Teaching was the joy of her life. She had the desire from an early each to become a teacher. She loved her students and parents.
At an early age she joined the Yielding Zion Baptist Church I Burkeville, VA where she attended regularly until moving to Richmond, VA to pursue her teaching career.
She joined the Mosby Memorial Baptist Church in Richmond, VA under the pastoring of Rev. Howard Chubbs where she served faithfully until she moved to Baltimore, Maryland. She was a member of Family Team Ministry #2, Parham Willis Sunday School. Usher with the Auxiliary Board #1, Membership Ministry, Prayer Partner, former member of the Finance Ministry and lifetime member of the Missionary Ministry. She was a 50+ year member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Richmond Alumnae Chapter.
She leaves the cherish her memory a son, Marlone L. Branch, three grandchildren; Kelly, Kim, and Devin, three great grandchildren; Teshauna, Dwayne and Kena of Richmond, VA. One former daughter –in-law; Tracy Branch, one brother; Elder Robert T. Branch of Baltimore, MD, two sisters-in-law, Elaine Branch of Baltimore, MD and Dorethea Eppes of Crewe, VA, a church son, Jerome Fleming, special friends; Eleanor Binford, Nancy Washington, Lois Johnson, Jerylen Reid, and Tomoria Freeman, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, April 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Yielding Zion Baptist Church, Burkeville. Interment Jackson Cemetery.
