“Alice Kathleen “Kathy” Goodman, 51, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away too soon on April 27, 2025, at VCU Medical Center. Born on January 14, 1974, in Long Island, New York, Kathy was the beloved daughter of the late Jimmie Goodman and Nancy Kirk. She was raised in Concord, North Carolina, before moving back to Long Island as a teenager.
Later in life, Kathy relocated to Virginia to care for her father and mother, a role she embraced with love and grace. Kathy was a devoted mother to her daughters, Tynekia and Jasmine Goodman of Virginia, and a proud grandmother to Jade and Jasper Lewis. Her family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Kathy built a successful career in the medical field, where she was known for her dedication, compassion, and tireless work ethic. She had a strong, beautiful, and joyful soul; always ready to help others, always putting family first. A social butterfly by nature, Kathy made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed beach trips, shopping, traveling to North Carolina and New York, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game.
She is preceded in death by: Her father Jimmie Goodman, mother Nancy Kirk, sister Sonya Goodman, and nephew CJ Goodman
Kathy leaves to cherish her memory: Her two daughters: Tynekia and Jasmine Goodman of Chesterfield, Virginia. Her two granddaughters: Jade and Jasper Lewis. Her siblings: Jimmie and Janice Goodman of Dover, DE; Keith (Sue) Goodman of Long Island, NY; Latoya Seabury (Jeremiah) and Erica Hillie of Long Island, NY. Her aunt Audrey Shorter of Fort Washington ,MD.Her nieces: Latisha Robinson and Janiyah Seabury of Long Island NY; Stacy Lewis of Dover, DE; Jamie Goodman Defazia of Orange, NJ; and Nicole Crawford of New Castle, DE. Her nephews: Jeremiah Seabury and Kenneth Robinson of Long Island NY; Randy Goodman of Amelia, VA; Shane and Bryce Goodman of Long Island, NY; Dontay Hillie of Long Island, NY; and Thomas Lewis of Dover, DE and a host of relative and friends.
Kathy’s presence brought warmth and light to every room. Her heart was generous, her laughter contagious, and her love unwavering. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
