Obituary for Alice B. Morgan
On Thursday, September 25th, our hearts were saddened by the passing of our loved one, ALICE B. MORGAN after a long courageous battle and declining health she was called home to be with God. She was born April 14, 1940 in Crewe, VA to the late Charlie and Ethel Belle. She was one of nine children whom loved life, people, and especially her family. She spent much of her life in Philadelphia, PA and later returned to Virginia to be closer to her family members and loved ones. She departed this life at her home in Hopewell, VA.
Alice was educated in Nottoway County Public Schools. She then later move to Baltimore, MD and then on to Philadelphia, PA where she resided for more than thirty years. While in Philadelphia she worked in the hospitality industry, doing what she loved most, helping others. Alice retired from Summers Gate in Philadelphia, PA.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted daughter, Brenda Belle of Hopewell, VA; one brother, John Belle of Crewe, VA; three sisters, Lucille Jackson of Dallas, TX, Edith “Doretha” Furman of Petersburg, VA and Helen “Kat” Stith of Richmond, VA; a devoted niece, Evelyn V. Womack; two sisters-in-law, Edna Mae Belle and Shirley Belle; other nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her sister, Rosa Marie and brothers, Robert Belle, Cecil Belle and Walter Belle preceded her in death.
Funeral Services Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Fourth Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Crewe, VA with interment in the Eanes Family Cemetery, Crewe, VA.
W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone was in charge of the arrangements.
