Obituary for Alease J. Oliver
Alease Jones Oliver departed this life on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the age of 96. Daughter of the late Henderson and Sallie Harris Jones, she was born on July 27, 1918 in Nottoway County, VA. She was the youngest of eleven brothers and sister.
Alease attended Nottoway County Public School. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined the Cedar Hill Baptist Church. Later she moved to Blackstone, VA and attended Springhill Baptist Church.
She married Charles Oliver, who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory:Â two sons, Milton B.T. Jones and wife Sally W. Jones, Lester E. Jones, Sr.; grandchildren, Michael W. Jones and wife Jenny Jones, Cassandra Jones, Lester E. Jones, Jr.; great grandchildren, Martin W. Jones, Marcus W. Jones, Jasmin M. Jones and Angel Jones; great-great grandchildren, Syon Jones, Zaizion Jones, Zah-harien Jones, Gary Jones and Mani Jones; devoted niece Martha Lee and a host of other loving relatives.
Alease always enjoyed helping whomever she could and put others needs before her own. She was an outstanding cook for over forty years at Ben’s Restaurant in Kenbridge, VA. She also enjoyed cooking for neighborhood children and was well respected in the Blackstone community. She will be missed by many.
