Obituary for Albert Pierce
Albert Pierce, also known as PT, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Petersburg, VA. He was born in Nottoway County on June 21, 1934 to the union of George Pierce and Nannie Gash Pierce. Albert attended Nottoway County public schools. He was employed by the Piedmont Sanitarium for a number of years.
Albert made his home in Crewe with his special friend, Mrs. Meredith Eppes for many years. Following her death, Ms. Shirley Eppes continued to care for him for many years in Crewe until they moved to Rocky Mount, NC. After a major health turn of events in Rocky Mount, he returned to Virginia to the Golden Living Nursing Home to be closer to his family.
Albert (PT) will be remembered as a man of few words, except when he gathered with his buddies talking and joking for hours or watching a good baseball game.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Nannie Pierce, his two brothers Edward and Calvin and his sister Mildred Pierce Lewis. He is survived by his sister Mildred daughters, Gloria Maxine of Richmond, VA, Ruby of Washington, DC and Marilyn Lewis of Portsmouth, VA. He is also survived by many cousins and special friends who loved him and will miss him.
Funeral Services Friday, May 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Hawkes Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone with interment in the Pierce Family Cemetery, Crewe.
