Obituary for Albert Lee Booth
Albert Lee Booth was born on August 29, 1949 in Brunswick County, Virginia to the late Albert W. Booth and Mary Jones Booth. Albert “Al” departed this life on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Booth and one sister, Leslie A. Blackwell.

He was employed by Feldman’s Food Company in Washington, DC, BT Ginns Furniture Company, and Laurel Van Lines Moving and Storage Company where he worked as a truck driver/forklift operator.

Albert joined and attended Little Mount Baptist Church at an early age until he moved out of the area. He moved to Washington, DC where he lived for over 30 years devoting his time to working and raising his children. Albert moved back to Blackstone, Virginia in 2009 and rejoined Little Mount Baptist Church with his family. He was very faithful attending Sunday School, Bible Study, and regular church services until his health failed.

In 1994, Albert met Dora Jvevette and they married in 1998. From this union, they had four children.

Albert was stricken with kidney disease in September of 1998 and had been on dialysis for 19 years at the time of his passing. He loved spending time with his young children that whom he said kept him young in health. He also loved spending time with his friends and family.

Albert leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife of 19 years, Dora J. Booth; eight sons, Antonio (Michelle), Albert Jr., Calvin (LaTisha), Alwyn, Albert Jr, Tre’Von (Sarah), William, and Timothy; three daughters, Amanda (Sean), LaToya, and Skylar; two step-children, DaKia Koon and Trevor Franklin (Erica); four sisters, Rev. Dr. Anna Wilson (Bernett), Blackstone, VA, Emma Edmonds, Alberta, VA , Diane Macklin (Edward), Kenbridge, VA, and Mattie Evans (Roscoe) Blackstone, VA; step-in father George O. Blackwell, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, mother-in law, Frances Cole (Arthur), father-in law, Roy Franklin ( Margie), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, a very close friend and confidante Reeves Crawley.

Special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at the Amelia Dialysis Center.

Services Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone. Interment private.
