Addie Lee Kirby, a native of Halifax County was born May 12, 1927 to Lee and Tassie Hogue. She departed her life on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
She attended Halifax County Schools and was employed at Piedmont State Hospital for thirty-two years.
She was a member of New Arbor Baptist Church in Halifax County before joining First Nottoway Baptist Church in Crewe, VA.
She loved fishing and football. She was a loyal Redskins fan, but above all else she loved God, Church, family and her friends.
Addie was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Tassie Hogue; her husband, Rogers A. Kirby; and daughter, Rosa Fowlkes. She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, Walter, William, Roy, Calvin, Carl and Mark Kirby; daughters-in-law, Vernell Kirby, Syburba Kirby and Gwen Kirby; brother, Walter Hogue; sister, Mae Whitfield; and a host of grand and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 11AM at First Nottoway Baptist Church, Crewe, Va.
Internment: Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA.
