ROOSEVELT JASPER departed this life on Friday, February 26, 2010. He was born to the late McKinley and Senia Jasper on January 7, 1936.
He was preceded in death by his parents, but leaves to cherish his memory: five daughters: Vanessa Booker (Jeffrey) of Powhatan, VA, Brenda Scott of Amelia, VA, Daphne Holman (Javan) of Richmond, VA, Anita Royal (Henry) of Amelia, VA and Rhonda Jones (Bobby) of Amelia, VA; a stepson, Larry Taylor (Velvet) of Richmond and the mother of his children, June Jasper of Amelia, VA; two sisters: Nannie Sheff (Herman) and Emma Rodwell (Eddie); five brothers: McKinley, Walter (Mary), Lawrence (Mattie), William (Gail) and George; nine grandchildren: Javan Jr., Elvin, Brandon, Sharonda, LaToya, Sheldon, Briante’, Sam and Senia; six great grandchildren: Raheim, Kadasia, Nyasia, Deonna, Andrianna and Dominic; one God son, Ricky Lamont Broadnax; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Four devoted friends, Fatima Abdulah, Barbara Ann Eggleston, Cecil Lewis and Harold Jones.
Funeral Services Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from Hope Chapel, Amelia with interment in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home of Amelia in charge of the arrangements.

To the Jasper family. I have been acquainted with Roosevelt a number of years. We surely shared some good times hunting with the Red Lodge Hunt Club in Amelia County. Weeping may endure for a night. But joy comes in the morning.
