WILLIE FITZGERALD was born in Nottoway County, Virginia to the late Henry and Mary Fitzgerald. He departed this life on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at his place of residence.
Willie was a member of Mount Gazerine Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Trustee, a Yard Usher and was a member of the Senior Missionary Group.
During Willi's years of employment, his ex-employers have said he was always a diligent and dependable worker. He has been known to work from sunrise to sunset, because he was determined to get the job done regardless of how long it took.
Willie’s survivors are one brother, Bazell Fitzgerald, Sr. and his sister-in-law Delories Fitzgerald; five nieces: Mary Lou, Olivia, Teresa, Patricia and Gracie Lee; nephews: Ronnie, Bazell Jr., Jerome, James Jr. and Ronald (who was like a nephew); and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of the arrangements.

In behalf of my sisters and brother in Balto, Md who's late Father William Henry Fitzgerald which was Mr. Willie Henry Fitzgerald's nephew I extend my sympthy to the family. I have known Mr. Willie for all my life, chat with him many times on concerns of the well being of the family in Balto. Mr. Willie was always the same and we will miss him. Dear family,
I am the great nephew of Mr. Willie Fitzgerald. His nephew, the late William Henry Fitzgerald, Jr. was my father, and he passed away November 25, 1987.
On behalf of my sisters and brothers: Shirley Temple Wilson, Bill Jr. Harper, Eric Fitzgerald, Angelo Fitzgerald, Angela Fitzgerald-kellar, Bryant Fitzgerald, Gail Fitzgerald, Pamela Fitzgerald, and Mark Fitzgerald we extend our deepest sympathies on the loss of our late, great uncle, Willie Fitzgerald. Please know also that my aunt, Olivia Bannie Fitzgerald-Waters extemds her greatest sympathies, too.
