Elizabeth Ann Walker born May 7, 1943 to William L. Walker and Lona B. Walker, departed this life on January 25, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA.

She was a graduate of Lunenburg High School. Later she attended the Nursing School at Piedmont Sanitarium where she obtained her LPN license. She was employed by Piedmont Geriatric Hospital for thirty-two years until she retired.

At an early she joined Dundas Chapel Church in Dundas Virginia and later moved her membership to Cellar Creek Baptist Church. She served as Secretary for the Cellar Creek Baptist Church Choir. She was a member of The Daughters-In-Christ Ministry. She was a dedicated and devoted member until her illness.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Eddie Lee Hawkes who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents Lona and William Walker; half-brother, Robert E. Walker and brother-in-law, Cornelius Johnson, Jr.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her loving memories a son, Stevie L. Yancey (Sadie); a daughter, Michelle L. Wilson (Wayne); a sister, Mary F. Johnson; a brother, George L. Walker; four grandchildren, Tanisha N. Roberts, Kanisha S. Sandford, Stevie L. Yancey, Jr. and Daimon R. Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She also leaves a devoted niece, Loretta A. Johnson and devoted godchildren, Phillis J. Jones, Addie J. Fulgham, Mary L. LeGrand, Rossi L. Pearson, Jaszmine S. Fulgham, and Juwan C. Fulgham; and a lifelong friend, Shirley Chocolate.

Funeral Services Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Cellar Creek Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.

W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of the arrangements.

In my distress I cried unto the lord and he heard me. Psalms 120:1 To: Stevie and Sadie Yancey I was very sorry to hear about your mother and mother in-law. I know you all will miss her, but her presence will always be in your hearts. Sorry I could not make it to the funeral but my thoughts were with you. May God continue to bless and keep you all in his keeping care. Stevie we miss you at Riverside. Take Care.
