When i heard of your death i was so shocked and could not believe that you were gone. I remember back in high school you were the sweeties person i knew. That smile that lit up the room whenever you were in it. To the family, i know it is hard for you to understand what has happened to such a good person! But always remember this, God do not make mistakes. I remember in High school Mia, could walk into the room and light it up with her smile and i will always remember that of her. God was working in his garden and notice that a Rose was missing, in order for him to complete his work. He looked down from heaven and saw that big smile of Mia and right then he knew that she was what was missing in order for him to complete his work. I am going to miss you Mia, and i will always remember you. So my friend go rest because your work here is done. May God Bless You!!

Mia made such a wonderful impact on the veterans & staff here at McGuire VAMC. Herself a proud veteran, Mia was a caring nurse & hard-working professional who always looked for ways to do things better for our veterans. She was even patient with us surgeons. Mia worked as the Acting Nurse Manager of the OR for about a year & did an outstanding job. We tried to talk her into applying for the permanent position, but she saw the need to have more free time for her family, especially her two children, whom she obviously loved deeply. Though we will greatly miss her here personally & professionally, our hearts go out to you, her family. Many of the OR staff met in prayer Wednesday afternoon & prayed for your pain to be comforted, and that in time God will bring forgiveness to all your hearts through this most difficult loss. Please let me know if there is any way we can be of any tangible help to you. I will continue to pray for you all. Thank you for sharing Mia with us over the past 10 years.

I send my deepest sympathies to the family. To the children, I know it may seem hard to understand right now, but put your hands in God's hand and let him give you comfort and peace. The thing I rembrr most about Mia was her smile and sense of humor. Rest in peace Mia, no more pain or hurt, for now you are one of God's angels.
