Obituary for Willie Bernice Foster
Willie Bernice Branch Foster, daughter of the late Houston and Clara Branch was born December 7, 1927 in Nottoway County, VA. She departed this life on Monday, August 22, 2016 at her home.

She joined Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church where she became a faithful member and served on the Usher Board in which she did with ‘pride and dignity’ until her health began to fail. She was also a member of the Pastors’ Aid and Missionary Ministries. She organized the Youth Usher Board under the leadership of Reverend Winbush.

Over the years Willie was employed by Fort Pickett, Craddock and Terry shoe factory, where she served as President of the Workers Union, and Nottoway County Public Schools as a bus driver.

On January 10, 1947 she married Charlie Foster, Sr., this union was blessed with three children.

In addition to her parents, Willie was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Foster, Sr.; siblings, Edward Branch, Horace Davis, Dorothy Stokes and Gertie Mae Hawkes. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Charlie N. Foster, Jr. (Cornice), Gladis Ann Foster and Leroy Adam Foster, all of Blackstone, VA; her grandchildren, Shadric Crittendon of McKenney, Charna Brooks (Andre) of Waldorf, MD and Shanice Perez (Robert) of Henrico, VA; her great grandchildren, Justice Morrison of Henrico, Andre Semaj, Arynn Brooks of Waldorf, MD and Antwan Crittendon of Laurel, MD; two aunts, Laura Pollard of Crewe and Lula Branch of Dinwiddie; close friends, Peter Young, Elizabeth Foster and Frankie Ingram; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment in the church cemetery.
