Obituary for Wayne E. Robinson
Wayne Everett Robinson, transitioned from this earth on Sunday, March 5.2017 in Amelia, Virginia.
Wayne was born March 25, 1959 in Amelia County. At a young age, he was baptized and joined Liberty Baptist Church in Amelia, Virginia. In adulthood he attended various churches including Piedmont Church of Christ in Farmville, Virginia. He eventually settled at West Broad Church of Christ in Richmond, Virginia. Wayne was a faithful and dedicated member and served on many committees. He was always willing to help whenever and wherever needed.
Wayne was educated in the Amelia County Public School System. He graduated from Amelia County High School in 1977. He then attended and graduated in 1981 from the Virginia State University, formerly known as Virginia State College.
Wayne joined the United States Army in August 1981 where he served for 11 years leaving with the rank of Captain in 1992. During his military career, he was decorated with various medals including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), Kuwait Liberation Medal among others.
After his time in the military, Wayne worked for various employers before becoming owner of R.C. Courier service based in Amelia, Virginia. Believing in entrepreneurship, Wayne also was involved with Amway and Paycation.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Ethel Robinson and brother Quenton Robinson. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory, his lovely and devoted wife of 18 years Penny Robinson, son Justin, sister Elenora (Rufus) Coleman, brothers John, Robert, Ronald; mother-in-law Angeline Wingo; sister-in-law Debra Peay; brothers-in-law Calvin Jr. (Linda) and Roger (Delice) Wingo; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. from Hope Chapel Foresquare Church, Amelia. Interment Monday, March 13, 2017 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
