Obituary for Sarah C. Baker
In the early morning of Monday, October 30, 2017, Sarah Coleman Baker, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, family member and friend entered into eternal rest at Chippenham Hospital’s Emergency Center in Chesterfield, VA.

Sarah was born in Amelia County to the late Jane Coleman on November 20, 1949. She was educated at Russell Grove High School.

Sarah was joined in marriage to the late Jesse Baker, Sr. on May 17, 1966. To this union, three children were born. She was employed by Sonny’s Grill in Richmond, VA for many years. Sarah was a great conversationalist and she met and made many friends over the years. Sarah was loved by many and did her best to keep in touch either by cards or telephone.

Sarah was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Baker, grandson, Brandon Baker, and brothers, John, Abraham and James Coleman. She leaves precious memories to: sons, Jesse Baker, Jr. of Richmond and William Baker, Sr. of Amelia; grandchildren, Jesse III, Angel, Travis (Kedi), Sherral, Jasmine, William Jr., Shanece and devoted grandson, Orlanden “OB”; great grandchildren, Quintrell, Alani, Jayla, Emmanuel and Nehemiah; brothers, Alton (Deneen) and Jerome (Lisa); sisters, Gladys Wilson (Samuel), Orelane Hayes , Rosa Baker (James), Pontgine Archer (Lewis), Shirley Jefferson (Clifton)and Inez Coleman; step-brother, James Johnson (Joanne); aunt, Jeanette Coleman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Amelia High School, Interment Restoration Memorial Gardens, Amelia.
