Obituary for Roberta E. Bolling
Roberta E. Bolling went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 1, 2017 in the Hickory Hill Retirement Community Center in Burkeville, VA. She was born to Ellen Smith and Richard Bell, Sr. in Nottoway County on March 27, 1914. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frances Bolling; grandson, Jeffrey Bolling; and her nine siblings.
Roberta was baptized at Springhill Baptist Church at a young age. She loved God and read her bible everyday. She was a faithful member of the Senior Choir, Deaconess Ministry, Missionary and Pastor Aid.
Her loving and caring spirit lead to her working as a nursing assistant for many years at Clay’s Rest Home and Heritage Hall.
Roberta was a loving mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved her family. She enjoyed singing, gardening and cooking for family and friends. Roberta was very stylish and loved her church hats.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted son, William Bolling (Evelyn); a devoted daughter, Annie Davis-Anthony (Melvin); a caring brother, Richard Bell, Jr.; grandsons, James Bolling, William Bolling Jr. and Anthony Davis (Yvonne); great grandchildren, Lavoris, LaShendra, Mikla, Isaiah, Dominique, Danyel, Shenequa, BreDana and Antonio; nieces, Esther Sessoms, Beatrice Mavin, Ida Holoway, Thelma Holloway, Grace Lynch, Mary Lee and Mildred Prince; nephews, Jacob Oliver, Theodore Bell, Emmitt Hawkes, Herman Hawkes and James Holloway. She was loved so much by great nieces and nephews, cousins and caretakers and special friend Mrs. Clara Hawkes.
Funeral Services Monday, October 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment church cemetery.
