Obituary for Madie I. Wallace
Madie Irene Wallace was born on September 9, 1929 in Buffalo, Texas to Dewey and Gracie Stephen.  She attended high school in Fort Worth, Texas.  Madie was an active member of the Trinity Baptist Church, aka, Paradise Baptist Church through attending Vacation Bible School where she was baptized.  She was known for her willingness to serve in any capacity in her church from early childhood.
While living in New York City, Madie was a faithful member of the Covent Baptist Church for fifteen years.  The CIT Company of New York City was her place of employment.
In 1968, Madie and her family moved to Hempstead Long Island, where she joined the Congregational Baptist Church.  She worked for the Electric and Gas Company, Long Island Lighting for many years from where she retired.
In 1994, Madie moved to Powhatan, Virginia and immediately she joined First Baptist Church of Midlothian, Virginia.  Later, Madie moved her membership to Hollywood Baptist Church of Powhatan, Virginia.  She joined the Missionary and Pastor Aide Ministries where she enjoyed the fellowship of working with the Sisters of HBC.
Madie entered into the loving arms of God the Father on Monday, May 9, 2016.  She leaves to cherish her memory:  brother-in-law, Howard C. Mckoy; aunt, Velva Thompson of Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hollywood Baptist Church, 3764 Old Buckingham Rd., Powhatan, VA  23139 where the family will greet friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Madie Wallace will be held Friday, May 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Hollywood Baptist Church, Powhatan with interment to follow in the Community Cemetery,  Powhatan.
Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home of Amelia in charge of arrangements.
