Obituary for Linwood Randolph Mitchell
Linwood Randolph Mitchell, son of the late Henry and Augusta Mitchell was born January 9, 1951 in Blackstone, Virginia. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Midlothian, Virginia.

Linwood joined Springhill Baptist Church at an early age. He attended school in Nottoway County and graduated from Luther H. Foster High School with the class of 1969. He furthered his education at Kitrell College in North Carolina.

Linwood worked as a security officer for VA Security in Washington, DC, and for Sumner Village in Bethesda, Maryland from which he retired. He was a Master Mason, and enjoyed basketball.

Linwood leaves to cherish his memory: his fiancé Vickey Hunter of Bowie, MD; his son Randolph Mitchell (Latechia) of George Town, MD; grandson Randolph of George Town, MD; granddaughter Doelle of George Town, MD; sister Sue Ellen Mitchell of Blackstone, VA; god sisters Melissa Wilson and Sheila Williams; special friends, Tyrone and Dennis Hawkes, Mary Hawkes and Gretchen Mitchell; cousin Frances Wilson; host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, March 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Springhill Baptist Church. Interment private.

W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of arrangements.
