Obituary for Jeanette Lee Jones
Jeanette Lee Jones was born March 24, 1937.

Jeanette was educated in the Virginia School System. At an early age she joined Fourth Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She believed and taught her children, “do not make the mistakes or choices that I did, but make wiser ones”.

Jeanette was employed at Fort Pickett Army Base in Blackstone, Virginia for thirty-eight years, where she was admired and respected by her employer. She was a good, hard worker and worked in the house-keeping department from early morning to mid-day only to leave that job to do house-keeping in the community until late nights, six days a week.

Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of over fifty-seven years Charles Edward Jones, Sr.; two brothers, John Edward Stewart (Mary) and Thomas Ligon; nine children, Robert Stewart (Betty Jean), Christine Todd, William Stewart (Tanisha), Barbara Booker (Ronald), Charles Edward Jones, Jr., Freeman Jones Sr. (Patricia), Clarence Jones, Sr ., Betty Thomas (Tyler) and George Jones Sr. (Aretha); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 504 East St., Blackstone, VA 23824. Interment private

W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of arrangements.
