James Doswell, the eldest child of the late Rosa and James Doswell, Sr., was born on July 17, 1950 in Baltimore, MD. James departed this life on July 12, 2017 at 10:35 a.m.
He received his education at Baltimore /city College High School, graduating in 1968.
June or Pine were the nicknames people would call him. June worked for the Department of Public Works in Baltimore for over 20 years, until his illness caused him to take an early medical retirement in 2012.
June was a family man. In his spare time he enjoyed going to his parents’ house playing Black Jack and Tunk. But his all-time favorite was Pinochle all night with his family and listening to music. On his down time he would read the daily newspaper.
June is preceded in death by his common law wife of over 30 years Vina Berry, his son Leon Berry, three sisters, Maryland, Lucille and Sharon, three brothers, Wayne, Keith and Kevin.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Darlene P. Berry, two granddaughters, Ericka and Latrice Berry, one grandson, Kyleek Berry, one great-granddaughter, Chloe Berry, one brother, Anthony Doswell, one uncle, Edward Stokes, one godson, James Berry Powell, and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends.
