Obituary for Dorisenia Thompson
Early on Saturday morning, September 24, 2016, our Lord and Savior called his faithful daughter Dorisenia Thompson home. She was born in Amelia, VA to Westmoreland and Pearl Thompson.
She received her formal education at Russell Grove High School and graduated with the class of 1966. Dorisenia was baptized and began her faith journey at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She started her working career at CMP Telephone Co. and then went on to work at Defense Supply Center of Richmond where she then retired. Retirement didn’t stop her, she volunteered at Mt. Gilead FGIM where she was a faithful member for over 25 years. She served on the Media Ministry and many others. She loved her family dearly, loved horses, motorcycles and Costco runs.
Dorisenia was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Westmoreland Thompson; brother Westmoreland Thompson, Jr.; and son-in-law Thomas Dennard. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: her two devoted daughters, Michelle Dennard and Argerita (John) Young; her four dedicated granddaughters, Etoya (Jasmend) W. Brown, Ronnicia, Mya, and Autumn; her loving brother Richard (Vanessa) Thompson, III; her devoted sister, Barbara (William) Eggleston; her caring and loyal friend for over 35 years, Carlton Whiting; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, and her canine pal Bentley.
Funeral Services Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries, 2501 Mt. Gilead Blvd., Richmond, VA 23225. Interment Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
