Obituary for Clara C Blackwell
Clara C. Blackwell, daughter of the late Sefus and Carrie B. Fields Jones was born November 18, 1925. She answered the call of the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Woodland in Farmville, VA.
At an early age, her family moved to Nottoway County where she lived until her health failed, and had to move to Cherry Tree Rest Home in Crewe, VA for about ten years.
Clara was baptized and joined Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kenbridge, VA at an early age and attended as often as she could.
She was married to Linwood W. Blackwell, Sr., he preceded her in death in 2000.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Linwood Blackwell, Jr., Edna Sue Blackwell, Doris Harris “Kat” , James Blackwell “Jean”, Leroy Blackwell “Ompa”, Christine Craig “David”, Joyce Williams “John”, Gloria Fitzgerald, Robert Blackwell “Tara” and Esther Seward; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Brother Jack Williams of Kenbridge; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Kenbridge with interment in the church cemetery.
