Obituary for Christine Woodson
Christine Woodson was born to Joseph and Lena Barrett on November 16, 1940 in Greenville, NC, she was called home to her eternal rest on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Heritage Hall in Blackstone, VA. Although Christine left us, she left many great memories to be cherished.

Christine attended public school within the Pitt County School District. After graduation she married Harry J. Adams and from this union they had two children, Harry J. Adams Jr. and Sandra D. Adams.

She later moved to White Plains where she joined Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Lester Cousin. For many years Christine was employed by the Marriott Corporation as a Dietitian Supervisor. Christine then relocated to Bridgeport, CT where she was employed at a convalescent nursing home as a Housekeeping Supervisor. She later met and married Leslie Woodson. Upon an early retirement, Christine and Leslie relocated to Crewe, VA. She joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where she attended regularly until her health began to fail. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family whom she loved very much.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lena Barrett; her husband, Leslie Woodson; son, Harry J. Adams, Jr.; one brother, Joseph T. Barrett; five sisters, Mildred Hemby, Lena Joyce Barrett, Geraldine Moore, Jesse Mae Crandle and Marjorie Boyd. She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter Sandra D. Adams-Jones (Carl), White Plains, NY; five grandsons, Brandon Cousin, Antioch, TN, Jonathan (Sara) Williams, Yeaton Williams, White Plains, NY, Justin and Julian Adams, Nashville, TN; two great granddaughters, Maya and Brielle; two sisters, Caroline (Kelly) Williams and Doris (John) Dixon; two brothers-in-law, Alston Moore and Marshall (Barbara) Towns; one sister-in-law, Pauline Barrett; one daughter-in-law, Gloria Adams; a beloved and devoted companion for many years, Alvin Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment church cemetery.
