Obituary for Carolyn Y. Tucker
Carolyn Y. Tucker, of Nottoway County, VA transitioned peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, March 2, 2017.
She graduated from Luther H. Foster High School in 1967. After finishing school, she married Daniel Tucker Sr. and from that union they were blessed with two children.
Active in her church, Carolyn, was a faithful Sunday school teacher, choir president, church secretary and also coordinated youth trips. She also loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends, especially her “grandbabies”. Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother that did not mind sharing a word of encouragement or advice with anyone.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Daniel Tucker Sr., one son, Daniel Tucker Jr. (Shelia), one daughter, Leslie Tucker-Shealey (Marios), six grand children, Shelyah, Daniel III, Daneil, Marcel, Kamia and Karmin, a sister Gail Anderson (Anthony), a brother Joseph Price, four brother-in –laws, Dwight Tucker, Robert Tucker (Edna), Nathaniel Tucker, Gary Tucker (Patricia) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Carolyn’s father and mother Johnnie and Theresa Price, two sisters Shirley and Gwendolyn, one brother Johnnie Jr., preceded her in death.
Funeral Services Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, Crewe. Interment Tucker Family Cemetery.
