Carolyn V. Stokes departed this life at Johnston Willis Hospital on August 12, 2018. She was born April 30, 1966 to Evelyn Vaughan and Jack Jones, Jr.
Carolyn attended school in Lunenburg and Nottoway. She also attended Crewe Skill Center where she became a CNA. She was a member of Pleasant Oak Baptist Church in Victoria, VA.
Carolyn was an employee of Home Aide, Home Recovery, Care Med and Public Partnership.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother David Vaughan. She leaves to mourn: her foster parents Reverend Richard and Mattie Seay; stepmother Sandra Jones; her husband Leroy Stokes; a loving son Vacheal Vaughan; a daughter Shakita Vaughan (Andrew); one granddaughter, Xzanariyah Oliver; four sisters Christine Elder, Sharon Booker (Robert), Pamela Vaughan (Karl) and Angie Scott; six brothers Albert Vaughan (Bernice), Nelson Vaughan (Brianna), Waverly Vaughan (Wonda), Jack Jones III (Tracey), Bryant Patrick and Kevin Tucker (Bobbi); three foster sisters Angela, Sharon and Darlene; one foster brother Arthur; a devoted cousin Regina Johnson; two devoted friends Jamelle Yates and Tina Neal; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
