Obituary for Bobby Charles Delaney
Bobby Charles Delaney “Red” was born on June 9, 1957 in Amelia County. He was preceded in death by his mother Annie Delaney and his sister Mildred Trent.
He was educated in Amelia County Public Schools. Bobby was baptized at an early age at Little Union Baptist Church. He was a log man and was employed as a maintenance man. Bobby was an avid fisherman and hunter. He took great joy in having long talks with family and friends.
Bobby leaves to mourn him and cherish his memory: his father Bobby Delaney (Shirley); a very loving a devoted companion of thirty years Mary Anderson; two sons Bobby Charles Jr. “Scooter”, and Nathron “P” of Buckingham County; his beloved granddaughters Trinity and Amaryiona of Lynchburg, Na’LayShia of Dillwyn; grandmother Laura Delaney of Richmond; brothers Larry, Alfred (Ethel) and Maurice Delaney of Amelia County; sisters Mary Ann Hill of Amelia, Anna Marie Bates (John) of Dinwiddie County and Sherita Delaney of Richmond; uncles Marvin Barley (Lillian) and Randall Barley (Lucy) of Powhatan County; aunts Lucy Anderson (George) of Powhatan and Gracie Wilkerson (Vernon) of Richmond; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; devoted friends Ricky Gibson, Ben Jones, Joyce, Larry Johnson, Alicia Eans, John Swan, Derek Griffin, Ronald Booker, and many more.
Funeral Services for Mr. Delaney will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Little Union Baptist Church, Amelia with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
